All-Ireland Champions!

History was made on Thursday 27th March 2014 when our school became All-Ireland Champions in the “Debating Science Issues” final. Our team of Transition Year students – Alex Fay, Manolito Aviles, Peter Redmond, Stephen Moran and James Morgan – left the school last Thursday morning as Leinster champions and headed to the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland along with a group of fellow TY students. Tutored by our senior Science teacher, Mr. Don Sheahan, they faced the Ulster champions in the morning semi-final and by lunchtime had secured their place in the final. The final was a Leinster-Munster clash and by afternoon’s end the Joey’s boys were victorious, a truly amazing feat. Along with the fabled All-Ireland wins on the sportsfield in Gaelic football and soccer, these lads have created a piece of history for themselves. We are truly delighted and wish to thank everyone who helped out and supported in any way. Joey’s Abu!
