History and Mission Statement

Our History

Coláiste Iósaif is a famous Northside Dublin school. In 2018 the school celebrated 130 years of involvement in the Irish Educational System. In 2023, the school became co-educational and began to accept both male and female students. Many famous past pupils have passed through its doors.

The school is managed by a Board of Management consisting of representatives of the Edmund Rice Schools’ Trust, parents and teachers. The school is non fee paying with a voluntary subscription.

The main objective in Coláiste Iósaif is to promote an excellent all round education with particular emphasis on the academic, social and moral development of its students. As an ERST school the Catholic ethos permeates the work of the school.

Our school is a collaborative environment that has worked to produce young people who excel. Our students have gone onto successful lives in politics, music, film, entrepreneurship and academics. Above all our students remain passionate about the experiences and relationships from their school years.
