So many things happen in the month of May in any one school in the country that it merits Mr Cullen’s designation as “May madness.” Hence, it is only now that I am getting around to uploading this short series of End of Year Events.
On Friday 13th May the school held its annual Sports Day in ALSAA Sports & Fitness Centre, Old Airport Road, Co Dublin. All pupils were transported there by bus and all activities well well under way by 10 A.M. Once again, we were favoured with an exceptionally good sunny day. This year 10 pin bowling was added to the programme for the day. The Activities included the usual very popular 5-aside indoor soccer for senior classes, the usual track and field athletics events, Table Tennis and many novelty events like Three-legged Races, Sack and Wheelbarrow races and so on. A good day was had by all, with an outdoor shop being provided by the caretaker Frank Cullen for the day. As the enclosed photographs show Mssrs Kelly, O’Brien and Cullen presented the winners with their prizes in the main ALSAA Hall. A selection of prints of pictures taken during Sports Day can be seen on the noticeboard to the right of the Staff Room.
We are all once again endebted to Mr Mick Kelly for organising yet another successful Sports Day.
