Please see below message from PTech committee and business partners about an online meeting taking place next Tuesday evening. As the students will be starting their paid internships after the coming mid-term, we are all in the final stages of preparation.
In the next day, your son will receive and email with his placement that he will be undertaking.
- All students need to click the link in this email and accept the placement.
- On Wednesday coming, they should also bring in to school their passport/photo ID as they will be meeting a representative of the companies to verify their identity.
This is the last step before the internships that completes their registration, as well as ensure that they will be paid for their placements. If you have any questions before then, please don’t hesitate to contact Ms. Dowling as PTech coordinator in the school
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Your son/daughter will be starting their P-TECH Internship/Virtual Work Placement on 28th February for six weeks. No doubt they have been sharing their experience of the job application process and all of the excitement as they prepare for this opportunity. A busy schedule is planned for the six weeks where they will learn a huge amount about the world of work, careers and other essential skills. In addition, they will continue working on their QQI Level 6 linked to projects developed by the industry partners.
We would like to provide you with the opportunity to meet with the Industry Partner leads from IBM, Cisco, Irish Life, Irish Water and Virgin Media so that they can share with you what the students will be doing over the six weeks and of course answer any questions you may have.
