On Friday 12th May the school held its annual Sports Day in ALSAA Sports & Fitness Centre, Old Airport Road, Co Dublin. All pupils were transported there by bus and all activities were well under way by 10 A.M. Once again, we were favoured with the weather as it stayed dry all morning even though rain had been forecast. Once again 10 pin bowling was added to the programme for the day.
The Activities included the usual very popular 5-aside indoor soccer for senior classes, the usual track and field athletics events, Table Tennis and many novelty events like Three-legged Races, Sack and Wheelbarrow races and so on.
A good day was had by all, with an outdoor shop being provided by the caretaker Frank Cullen for the day.
As the enclosed photographs show Mssrs Kelly, O’Brien and Cullen presented the winners with their prizes in the main ALSAA Hall.
A selection of prints of pictures taken during Sports Day can be seen on the noticeboard to the right of the Staff Room.
We are all once again indebted to Mr Mick Kelly for organising yet another exceptionally enjoyable Sports Day.
