The Geography Department
Geography is the study of places and the relationships between people and their environments. Geographers explore both the physical properties of Earth’s surface and the human societies spread across it. … Geography seeks to understand where things are found, why they are there, and how they develop and change over time.
Junior Cycle
In Geography you will study about places, people and what shapes the environment. You will learn how the environment influences people, and how they change the environment. You will develop your ability to draw and understand maps, graphs and diagrams, as well as studying photographs and collecting information outside the classroom through fieldwork. As part of the new Junior Certificate students will undertake two classroom based assessments allowing them to explore geography in the world around them in practical terms
