Historic Rugby First for Joey’s!

On December 5th 2013 a group of 1st & 2nd yrs made history when for the first time in our 125 year existence  our school played in an inter-schools rugby blitz held at the Clontarf road all-weather pitches.  The students have been training on Wednesday afternoons under the watchful eye of Damien Ryan, our local Schools Completion Programme officer, who has been instrumental in getting the squad together. He has been ably assisted by two 5th year students – Davin Eames and Stephen Healy.  The boys are really enjoying the experience and look forward to future competitive games.  So, having produced many Dublin footballers and hurlers, as well as Irish soccer internationals over the years, who’s betting against a Joey’s boy making it all the way to wearing the Irish rugby jersey in the future?
